Fairfield Hearing Clinics: fixing lead quality and location targeting with Meta Ads

40+ leads per day / 20 to 25 qualified leads per day / ₹1,000 to ₹8,000 daily budget (8x) / Ongoing since 2022
Fairfield Hearing Clinics
In short

After fixing location targeting, the campaign delivered 20+ leads a day, 8 to 12 of them qualified and in-area. Adding a call prompt brought direct calls within hours, and a sales-qualified feedback loop let daily spend scale from ₹1,000 to ₹6,000 while lead quality held.

The challenge

Fairfield Hearing Clinics wanted consistent, high-quality patient leads from Meta Ads, but many leads came from outside Delhi NCR, where the clinic could not serve them.

Our approach

Location-restricted Reels, hard Delhi NCR rules at the ad set level, 35+ targeting, a call-now prompt, and sales-qualified signals sent back to Meta.

The result

After fixing location targeting, the campaign delivered 20+ leads a day, 8 to 12 of them qualified and in-area. Adding a call prompt brought direct calls within hours, and a sales-qualified feedback loop let daily spend scale from ₹1,000 to ₹6,000 while lead quality held.

Phase 1: Launch and the lead-quality problem

Fairfield approached us in 2022 with two goals: generate consistent, high-quality patient leads through Meta Ads, and improve local visibility through hyperlocal SEO to drive walk-ins and calls from the immediate service area.

We started with a daily ad spend of ₹1,000, running a single campaign built around video creatives (Reels) that educate and engage people about hearing health. The campaign generated leads, but quality was inconsistent, a common challenge in healthcare lead generation where broad targeting attracts curiosity clicks rather than real buying intent.

Phase 2: Fixing out-of-location leads

As the campaign scaled, the client's sales team flagged a recurring issue: a significant share of incoming leads were from outside Delhi NCR, the only area the clinic can serve. The team was spending time on follow-ups that could never turn into appointments. This is common in Meta Ads for local, appointment-based businesses, because platform location targeting can reach beyond the intended area through broad audience expansion, IP inconsistencies and interest-based reach.

After the sales team's feedback pinpointed the problem, we restructured the campaign around three fixes.

1. Location-restricted creative messaging

We rebuilt the Reels with on-screen captions stating "Available only in Delhi NCR". This works as a self-qualifying filter at the awareness stage, discouraging people outside the service area from engaging or submitting a lead.

2. Hard location rules at the ad set level

We tightened geo-targeting with strict location rules inside the ad set, narrowing delivery to Delhi NCR instead of relying on broader radius-based or interest-based targeting.

3. Demographic filtering (35+)

To filter out low-intent leads, we focused targeting on the 35+ age group, a closer match to the clinic's real patient profile and a group less prone to accidental or non-serious form fills.

Results of the fixes

Daily leads generated20+ leads per day
Qualified, in-location leads8 to 12 leads per day
Lead qualification rateAbout 40% to 60%
Location accuracySignificant reduction in out-of-NCR leads

The sales team reported a smoother follow-up process, spending less time filtering out unserviceable leads and more time converting genuine, in-area prospects.

Phase 3: Adding direct call generation

With location-based lead quality solid, the sales team asked for something more: direct phone calls from interested customers, since calls usually convert faster and signal higher intent than a form fill.

We made a simple, targeted change to the existing Reels. Alongside the location caption, we added the clinic's phone number with a clear prompt for instant response, for example "Call now for a free hearing test". Within a few hours of the updated creative going live, the sales team started receiving direct calls, in addition to the form-fill leads already coming through.

The easier you make it to act, the faster people act. For an appointment-driven business, a phone number in the creative removes a whole step (visiting a landing page and filling a form) for customers who are already convinced and just want to talk to someone.

Phase 4: Scaling budget with a qualified-lead feedback loop

As lead quality and conversion improved, the client scaled daily ad spend from ₹1,000 to ₹6,000, a 6x increase, while keeping lead quality strong.

A key driver was event-based conversion targeting. Instead of optimising only for form-fill volume, we set up a feedback loop with the sales team's qualification status:

  • Every lead was tagged internally as "qualified" or "not qualified" by the sales team
  • That signal was passed back to Meta through the Conversions API and custom events
  • Meta's algorithm learned what a qualified lead looks like: someone who matches the sales team's real buying criteria, not just someone who filled a form
  • Over time, delivery shifted toward audiences more likely to produce qualified leads, not just cheap leads

At ₹6,000 per day, the campaign consistently generates good-quality leads at higher volume, with the algorithm increasingly optimising toward the client's sales-qualified criteria. The platform can only optimise for what you tell it matters: volume-based optimisation gets more leads, while signal-based optimisation gets better leads and makes scaling budget much safer.

The client's perspective: patience and trust

Every phase of this engagement, from fixing lead quality and out-of-location leads to adding call generation and scaling budget, took real time to test, learn and refine. The client stayed patient when qualified leads were inconsistent early on and gave us room to diagnose the issue properly instead of chasing a quick patch. In their words to us: "Take the time to resolve all these issues."

That trust paid off. As each issue was addressed, the account did not just stabilise, it compounded, and the clinic has continued to grow steadily month over month.

Key takeaways

  • Filter by location at every stage. Not only in ad set targeting but in the creative itself. Setting expectations in the video and caption reduces low-intent clicks before they become leads.
  • Demographic filtering doubles as a quality filter. Age targeting aligned with the real patient profile filtered out unserious leads, not just irrelevant ones.
  • Sales team feedback is a critical input. Both major improvements, location accuracy and direct calls, came from listening to the people closing the leads, not only from dashboard metrics.
  • Small creative changes can bring fast results. Adding a phone number to an existing Reel took minutes and opened a higher-intent channel within hours.
  • Feed real qualification data back to the platform. Scaling safely meant teaching Meta what "qualified" means to the client's sales team.
  • Trust and patience matter. Real optimisation takes time, and the client's willingness to stay the course is a big part of why the account keeps growing.

A note on this pattern

Out-of-location leads are a common challenge in Meta Ads for hyperlocal, service-based businesses, especially clinics and appointment-driven services. If you see a gap between leads generated and leads that actually convert, location and demographic filtering combined with self-qualifying creative is often the fastest fix.
